This comprehensive introductory DVD was researched, written and produced by Nigel Cooper's production company Generic Pool Productions. It was filmed by Nigel Cooper and Simon Wyndham and edited by Simon Wyndham. The entire DVD was shot and produced in the United Kingdom, with the exception of a few shots by Nigel Cooper that were filmed in Belgium.
Nigel Cooper has been a professional video producer for 10 years and runs his own video production company Generic Pool in Cambridgeshire where he specializes in SIVs (special interest videos), training DVDs, educational programmes, corporate videos and the odd bit of TV Broadcast work. Nigel started out his career studying photography and then eventually set up his own photographic studio in North London where he specialized in advertisement and corporate photography.
After several years in stills photography he decided that video was the next natural progression so he got formal training as a Lighting Cameraman and has not looked back. He is also an editor/compositor and music arranger/composer. Nigel is also the founder/editor of the UK-based magazine DVuser and is a full member of the Guild of Television Cameramen.
Simon Wyndham is a professional video producer and cameraman based in the Midlands where he runs his company Five Element Productions. He specialises in documentary and dramatic production and has successfully co-directed two digital features as well as working on many others such as Neil Osemans acclaimed Soul Searcher and the cult grindhouse thriller Left For Dead.
Simon is also a prolific writer and has produced articles on the subject of video production for many magazines including DVuser, Showreel, and Video Systems, as well as writing about the world of Hong Kong and independent film production for magazines such as Impact.
We also have the expertise of some of Sony's top people on board. Over the years we have built up a great relationship with the Sony people here in the UK and in Europe. It is because of this great relationship with Sony that we are able to get our hands on the new XDCAM EX camcorders before they become available for sale, and in turn shoot this training DVD production.
We would like like to take this opportunity to thank our friends at Sony UK for being here for us and for backing us 100% during this project.
